The Week Ahead and Beyond
This Sunday is the Third Sunday After Pentecost. Linda's message will be on “The Cost of Following.” Thomas DeBusk will be providing the offering of music. We will collect the 2 Cents a Meal offering. After worship, we will enjoy lemonade, perhaps on the lawn.
Linda has been selected to be a delegate to the General Assembly from the Presbytery of the Peaks. She will be participating from June 22 until July 3. On Sunday, June 28, Jan McGilliard, a commissioned lay pastor and member of Blacksburg Presbyterian Church, will preach. On Sunday, July 5, Lucian will lead the worship service.

Bulletin Lite
Like everything else, the cost of paper has gone up. To reduce printing costs and to be good stewards of the environment, we will be doing a trial run this summer with a half-sheet bulletin. It will show the order of worship so people can know what's coming next in the service but all the words to responses and hymns will be on the screen. Please provide feedback to the church office after Sunday.
The full bulletin is attached to the eUpdate email for those who wish to print it at home.

The New Directory is Coming Along
Work is progressing to collect, correct, and update contact information for Northside's members and friends. Once the corrections to date are entered in the system, an email will be sent to collect additional updates.

Monday Night Supper
The meal this week was 2 grilled hot dogs, baked beans, carrots and cherry tomatoes, chips, fruit, and cookies. We served 60 meals. Helpers included Barbara, Marge and George, Linda, Susan, Pam, and Bruce and Heidi.
Bag Collection: If you have groceries delivered from Kroger, please save the large delivery bags and bring them to the church. If you have friends who get deliveries and don't know what to do with the bags, we can use them. They are the right size to pack multiple meals for delivery to the parking lot. It is a good way to recycle the bags, reducing the need to order brown paper shopping bags.
Volunteers to help prepare and pack meals are always welcome and needed. |
