Coming Sunday and Beyond
Linda will preach on “Isn’t the Lord Here?” The choir will sing “There Is a Balm in Gilead” to enhance the worship service. We will have a Litany of Godspeed for long-time members Gail and Caryl Gray, who are moving to Fredericksburg to be closer to family. Following the service, we will have a brief congregational meeting to elect church officers to the class of 2028. The officers include elders, deacons, and a member of the Memorials Board.
Sunday School starts after Fellowship time. Linda will continue with her series on the history of western Christianity and the kids will be having a short learning time with Susan downstairs during church time after they have their time in the sanctuary.

Worship Leader The role of the volunteer scripture reader is changing to expand the participation in the service, per the Worship Committee. In addition to reading the scripture lesson, the call to worship and the prayer of praise are now included in the role. The prayer and scripture will be provided in advance. Once you have read the scripture you may go sit in the congregation. Sign up to volunteer using the sign-up system.

|
Volunteer Sign-up System There are a variety of ways to serve the congregation by volunteering to help in the nursery, usher, host fellowship time, or read the scripture during worship. Typically someone emails a list of "regulars" to collect dates of availability, creates a schedule, then goes back and forth to fill open dates. The other method is to track people down during fellowship time to ask them to fill a date and position.
This process won't go away, but it will be easier with a bit of on-line help. There is now a form on the website where you can pick the positions you wish to fill and the dates you will serve. Go to https://www.nsidepresbburg.org/volsign/ to start.
Select a position you are interested in helping with and click the "Submit" button. You will see a form that lists open dates for that position. Select the dates you are available to help, enter your name, phone number, and email, then submit the form. You will receive a confirmation email showing the position and dates you signed up for.
As always, you will receive a reminder email the Thursday before you are scheduled to help.
